The management program for female professors and female executives opens its doors for the 2023/2024 cohort. Interested female executives from science, science management and administration at the UzK can apply now until June 30, 2023.

The management program focuses on basic competencies for mastering complex leadership and management tasks, taking gender-sensitive aspects into account, and takes place over a total of 12 seminars and practical days.

The program will be conducted in German. In order to follow the content and the exchange and to be able to contribute accordingly, participants should be proficient in German (at least B2 level).

The Gender Mentoring Agency offers measures to promote particularly talented female doctoral students and students at the University of Cologne. The aim is to attract them – within the scope of a structured talent management – for careers in academia and to provide them with long-term support in planning and implementing their career steps. As an instrument of funds for the promotion of the gifted, the agency supplements existing mentoring programs at the University of Cologne and makes an important contribution to attracting the ‘best minds’ for academia.

In addition to the mentoring partnerships, offers of advanced training and network meetings for mentees, the offer also includes a target-group-specific offer for academic managers and members of non-professorial teaching staff who want to further network and professionalise in their roles as mentors and career developers or gatekeepers.

The Gender Mentoring Agency is a free service offered by Faculty and Academic Staff Development and is directed at female doctoral students and female students across all faculties.

DFG-funded research associations (SFB/CRC, FOR/RU), graduate schools and programmes as well as excellence clusters at the University of Cologne receive gender funds from the German Research Foundation (DFG), which can be used, among other things, for services in the areas of training (Female Career Center), coaching (Faculty and Academic Staff Development) and childcare (Dual Career & Family Support).
