As a doctoral candidate, you must first be admitted to the doctoral examination procedure. As a rule, the application can be submitted at the earliest two years after the start of the doctoral studies.

Use the checklist to keep track of all the important steps.

The following documents must be submitted in Docfile D-file no later than two weeks before submission of the dissertation:

• Current curriculum vitae with photograph
• Certificate of study progress as proof of enrollment in the doctoral program
• Non-graduate school members: Proof of participation in a course on good scientific practice
• Application for admission to doctoral examinations, fully completed and signed
• Copy of an identification document (identity card, passport)

Please send an email to the doctoral office (mnf-promotionen@uni-koeln.de), stating "Gesuch, Department (e.g. Physics)" in the subject line, stating that you have deposited the application with all attachments in Docfile D-file.
