Current Collaborative Research Centers and Transregios
Collaborative Research Centers (CRC) and Transregions (TRR) of the German Research Foundation (DFG) are long-term research programs at one or more universities. Various scientists work together as part of an interdisciplinary research program.
They enable the processing of innovative, demanding and long-term research through the coordination and concentration of people and resources in the applicant universities. In this way, they serve to establish institutional priorities and structures. In addition, they promote interdisciplinary collaborations and young scientists.
Further information about CRCs and TRRs can be found on the relevant DFG pages.
The University of Cologne (UoC) currently has 16 SFBs and TRRs, with the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences participating in 12.
