Research at the Faculty
The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Cologne plays a leading role in the field of natural scientific research in Germany. With participation in three clusters of excellence and numerous collaborative projects, our faculty's research activities are interdisciplinary and cover a wide range of topics. The high number of Collaborative Research Centres with spokeperson is particularly noteworthy. The above-average research strength is also reflected in a large number of publications and third-party funding. The research is characterized by close collaboration with other universities and non-university research institutions in the region.
Promoting our early career researchers is particularly important to us. Therefore, we support young scientists with the faculty’s initiative for early career researchers.
